I operate P25 FNE (Fixed Network Equipment) that can be connected to via repeaters and hotspots. This system does not support Pi-Star, WPSD or MMDVMHost – it uses DVMProject instead for better audio quality and more stable networking.

Hotspots
Hotspot hardware is similar to what you’d use for any of the ham radio modes. You’ll need:
- Recommended Hotspot Board
- Raspberry Pi 3B+ minimum, 4 or newer recommended. Minimum 2GB RAM.
- MicroSD card of 16GB or larger
- Power Supply
- Case of your choice
After installing 64-bit Rasbperry Pi OS, get in touch with me to get connected to the network.
Repeater Nodes Using Analog Radios
- Same Raspberry Pi setup as above or any PC running Linux, like an HP z2 mini.
- The W3AXL modem board.
You’ll need either two mobile radios (one for receive and one for transmit), or a repeater station that provides flat audio input and output.
Then contact me to get connected to the network.
Motorola Quantar
- Same raspberry pi setup as above – or any computer running Linux.
- A v.24 wireline board or W3AXL’s wireline board
- You’ll also need a v.24 USB converter.
Then contact me to get connected to the network.
