Tytera MD-380 – Enable test/alignment mode

If you have a Tytera MD-380 and would like to perform some alignment on it, you can enable “test mode” in the CPS.

First, a disclaimer: You’ll want to be EXTREMELY careful with these values – do NOT adjust them unless you have proper test equipment!  Take screen shots of everything before you change these in case you need to restore them later.  Changing these values could damage your radio, so don’t hold me responsible, I warned you!

All it takes is a quick edit of the settings.ini file in the program directory. On my system, it is in C:Program Files (x86)TyteraMD_380SoftWare_EN.  Note that you will need administrator privileges to save this file.

Make sure the program is closed.

Open the file in your favorite text editor.  Change the line that says “testmode” to:

testmode=1

Save the file and exit notepad.

Open up the software, read the radio, and press Control+T – you’ll be presented with all of the alignment values:

Again, don’t adjust these values unless you know what you’re doing.  You could brick your radio or make it transmit off frequency.

Enjoy!
